The Most Important Person in Your Life

Who is the most important person in your life?
Think about that for a minute.
I'm willing to bet you're thinking of someone close to you. And I'm willing to bet you're not thinking about the closest person to you.
I believe the most important person in your life is YOU.
What kind of thoughts are going through your head when you hear that?
Do you feel a sense of relief?
Are you thinking, "Yes! I agree."?
Are you thinking, "No, that's selfish."?
Are you thinking, "Oh, I wish that were true."?
Our society and culture do not encourage this belief.
And yet, to live the most fulfilling, most satisfying, most content life, you must shift your mindset to believe that The. Most. Important. Person. In. Your. Life. Is. YOU.
In order to truly be in my full essence, I must make myself the most important person.
I must pay attention to my body, pay attention to my feelings, pay attention to my thoughts, pay attention to what lights me up, and pay attention to what depletes me.
What would be different in your life if you believed and integrated the concept that you are the most important person in your life?
And how would everybody else in your life benefit?
I have solid proof now that everybody around me benefits when I care about myself more than anybody and anything else. Now, I don't mean that you're not respecting and caring for others in a greedy, "selfish" way. What I know to be true is that if I am the most authentic person I can be, if I am practicing being the most me I can be, if I am paying attention to what is working and is not working for me at any moment, then I am better to and for others. I am better at serving others. I am better at supporting others. I am better at loving others if I love myself first.
This goes against things we've learned and are told over the years.
I invite you to explore what it would mean if you put yourself first. What if you cared more about how you felt physically and emotionally? What if you made yourself the most important person in your life?
There is a ripple effect in this. It will improve your relationships. It will improve other people's lives.
“The most important person that can ever love you, is you.”
