Circle of Limitation – Lessons from an Ant

Have you ever a video of an ant trapped by a circle drawn on a piece of paper? I think one of them went viral a few years ago. I only heard about it recently and checked it out for myself today. It’s a real thing.
In these videos, an ant scurries around inside a circle drawn with a marker, seemingly trapped by an invisible force.
Which got me thinking about our own mind's invisible barriers. Most of the time, our greatest barriers are the ones we perceive to be real, even when they're not.
How often do you find yourself going in circles, confined by barriers that, in reality, hold no power over you except for the belief that they do?
Think back to a time in your life when you felt stuck, but now with 20/20 vision, you can see that you were actually within your own constraints.
Maybe it was a belief about your abilities, a fear of stepping outside your comfort zone, or possibly societal expectations that dictated what you should or shouldn't do. These are the marker lines we draw around ourselves that keep us from exploring and expanding our lives.
So, now, I want you to get curious. What if something you think you are up against is not as rigid as you think it is? What if it is actually just a marker line on a piece of paper, which means it’s actually a limiting belief? The courage to challenge the status quo and step beyond these lines is within you. First, you need to be willing to consider that it’s not a real limitation. Then play with shifting your perspective and dare to take that first step outside the supposed circle.
“Fear is the gatekeeper of your comfort zone.”
